In Celebration of Snow!

How does one celebrate when it finally snows?
Treat yourself to a steaming cup of hot chocolate, of course.
Or if a friend drops by unexpectantly, it’s such a sweet but simple treat to prepare. Just pour the steaming brew into a holiday mug, top with whipped cream and crushed candy cane. Then add a Pirouline rolled wafer for stirring and  your all set to go!
I have to tell you waking up to snow this morning was a thrill. It’s late coming for our area this year.

This is a shot taken from the cabin toward the driveway. It’s just after day break.

I haven’t done any Christmas decorating yet. But
I’ve gotten a lot of great ideas from Pinterest. Here are just a few that I might try.
Pretty Handy Girl gives a tutorial on how to make this lovely runner. I wonder where I can get this stencil….

So simple, but beautiful.

  1. Kimberly,I love the snow up north. Are you or hubby going out to shovel the driveway? We haven't decorated either, in time we will eventually get around to it.I love the candles in the little flower pots, you've captured some really nice ideas from PinInterest.Update on my son, surgery went very well. They were able to remove all the hardware from my sons hand. He goes back to the doctor on Friday to remove the stitches. He won't be able to fully use his hand for a while but things are getting better for him.I will know more about my Dad on Thursday.Thank you for your prayers. Give the family a hug, stay warm and enjoy your hot chocolate.Your Friend,Sandy

  2. You found some great things on Pintarest! I loved seeing your hot chocolate and your snow. While I think snow is beautiful, I'm not so fond of cold weather! (But it comes whether I want it to or not!)Christmas blessings, Beth

  3. That's a sweet mug of hot chocolate! Yum. I think I pinned those little pots with the candles too. So cute. There are some great ideas out there. I don't bother with Pinterest much as I don't have time.

  4. You have a great way of celebrating the snowfall. It is so pretty. I may just have to fix some hot chocolate and gaze at your pictures. We are at 70 degrees with 100% humidity. I'd much rather have a bit of snow right now.Really pretty Christmas ideas. Blogland is full of inspiration.

  5. A fresh snowfall is always so pretty. We have had snow for quite awhile now…just not any NEW snow for almost 2 weeks now. But, boy has it been cold.My house is very teeny, so it doesn't require a lot of decorating for Christmas. Just not enough room. I love to see what everyone is doing with their houses though.

  6. I need to get a little more appreciation of snow, like you have.I'm not a fan of snow. What I mean is I don't like driving in it. It's beautiful while sitting in a warm chair, looking out the window. You have some great ideas for decorations. I just might try that first one.
