I have been wanting a Farmhouse counter forever! Two years ago when we moved into our house, I spotted three huge hunks of reclaimed lumber in our garage. I knew right then and there that this lumber would make a beautiful Farmhouse counter for my kitchen.
I didn’t mention my dream to my husband just then. After all the house was in need of attention elsewhere (everywhere) at that time!
A few weeks ago when I shared my idea with Tim, I don’t think he had the vision for the project at all. But he took it on and created this beautiful counter for me. Once he started sanding it didn’t take long to see how beautiful the wood was under all of the gray and weathered wood.
See what I’m talking about? The wood had been used as a work bench for many, many years.
In the end we are both very happy with how it turned out. I’m thrilled because now I have even more space to display my Farmhouse treasures. Tim is just glad to have somewhere store our canned goods! Hi Kimberly, it took me a while to realise I needed to click on the name, and Bingo!!! here I am reading it all, and what a beautiful design. A huge leap, forward, and trust in yourself, we do. Hugs and warmest wishes for all in your life. p.s. a stunning bench top, your Tim is a very wonderful worker with wood.

Kimberly,
I love you new blog setup!!! I’ve added your new blog setup to my reading list and tried to add it to my blog roll. For some unknown reason it’s not allowing me to add your blog to my blog roll. I need to investigate this further and try to figure this out.
Your kitchen shelves are gorgeous!!! I would kill to have several shelves made like this in my kitchen.

but I think I’ll wait a bit before I mention this to tim.
